TOKYO, JAPAN, September 2nd, 2011- 16 of Japan's newest generation of internationally exhibiting artists exhibit their visions for a new Japan at Los Angeles' Hive Gallery. Running from October 1st to October 29th, 2011, `Onward-Navigating the Japanese Future` presents the views, dreams, ideals and disappointments of Japan's swiftly advancing young artists. Directed by Artrates Japan, Tokyo's leading exporter of young Japanese art talent, `Onward` will feature a diverse range of works including, Sculpture, Painting, Photography and Drawing.
From the cutest of kawaii to the most disturbing expressions of the subconscious, Japan has always inspired the international art community with it's diversity and depth. The upheavals of early 2011 took their toll upon the Japanese psyche but, as we can see through this exhibition, Japanese motivation has never been higher. Expect the unexpected and you'll be rewarded for visiting the Hive Gallery in October for this month long showcase of young Japanese contemporary artists.
If you are interested in seeing something really unique, catch the opening night performances from 8 pm for a small fee.

About Artrates: Established in February 2010, Artrates stands as a primary resource for international curators, exhibition spaces and galleries to identify and acquire professional Japanese talent. Artrates Japan promotes Japanese creators practicing within the framework of the contemporary Japanese cultural mind and fertilized by the deep history of Japanese technique.
